I mean it was a proper con job. But I gotta hand to these guys, they knew how to press my buttons.

I’m even embarrassed to say what it was I bought. But in the name of screaming sales in your business I’m going to come clean. And I’m going to share with you the best place you can find the cream of all the best marketing and sales training available. And it’s free… Kinda.

The Truth Of What A Shocking Nerd I Am

I haven’t had a woman in my life for a while now. Basically I spend too much time deep in the trenches of the greatest marketing and sales techniques – past and present – to have a real life conversation with a woman that would be interesting to her.

I keep getting girls asking me how it’s possible for someone as awesome and good looking as me to not have a girlfriend – which really pisses me off because all the ones who ask me that are hitched. And so I decided it was time to do something about it.

I’d heard rumors there were guys out there who sold courses on how to pick up girls and generally improve your luck with women. So I thought, “why the hell not, I’ll search around and see what’s out there”. And that’s what I did. Discreetly of course, on the internet. I don’t want too many people finding out I don’t know how to score chicks.

I found several sites and… now… I realise some are more reputable than others. Forums are the best invention of all time folks. Go to them before making any purchases from unknown (to you) businesses.

Anyway, because I’m the kinda guy who doesn’t like to just go with the first thing he sees I kept digging. Looks like digging my own grave. I got to this one site – identified constructively in an appropriate forum – and these guys had me instantly by the balls.

I want to tell you about how they presented the sales letter too. That alone is worth a fortune to you and me. And I’ll be trialing it in one of the promotions I’m working on for a client at the moment. It’s advanced stuff. I’ll leave it for another time. But more importantly you need to get what a goldmine of marketing and sales training you and your life already is.

And you don’t need to get ripped off like I did to see it.

You Are Your Own Best Marketing Guru

Everything you buy, you buy because someone went to the trouble of figuring out that you wanted to buy it and put it on a shelf or on a website for you to buy. And someone somewhere created the message that would have you get up off your lazy fat ass out of your couch and down the road to buy it.

Or at least get you clicking from the comfort of your couch.

And so all you need to do is examine every purchase you make, and every purchase you don’t make, to understand what works and doesn’t work in marketing and sales. But there is a psychological trick you have to play on yourself in order to get the most out of the experience.

And I’m quite aware I’m totally shooting myself in the foot by telling you this because once you get it you’ll probably never need to hire me as a copywriter again, but what the hell. I like you.

You’ve got to be able to split your mind in two. I’m not even sure how I do it really. Maybe it’s something to do with left and right brain or conscious and unconscious or… something. I don’t know. But I do know it’s a trick I learned from meditation.

Yeah, I know. My hippie days are shining on through again. But that just goes to prove the point. Everything you need to be a great sales person or copywriter is right where you are. It is your experience of life that is worth so much to you.

Meditation For Marketers™

What I do is go through the motions of buying something and allow myself to just think whatever thoughts come up. Unrestrained, no fighting my thoughts. Just reading the sales message, reading the offer, going through the warrenty and making the purchace.

Now of course if alarm bells go off I pay attention to that. In fact I pay attention to all of it. I pay attention to all my thoughts and listen to all of them but without resisting those thoughts and without becoming those thoughts.

It’s A kind of removed observation of my mental process as I go through a purchase. In fact you can do this at any time. In any situation. It’s incredible what you can learn about yourself and more importantly about how the human mind works and how it responds to different stimuli by just observing your thoughts as you go through the motions of life.

A way you can tap in to the cream of the best marketing and sales training available by just observing what you buy and don’t buy.

And by looking at how excited or disgusted you are about buying or not buying.

The more excited you are about something the more likely you are to be reading or experiencing some high class, high value, deep desire triggering technique.

“Yeah, But… Scott. You Got Fleeced, Dude.”

I know, I know. I never said this was a way to protect yourself from less than honorable operators. The truth of the matter is, these guys were master salesman. And the sales letter was A-grade stuff. I was really impressed with the whole thing and how deeply it hit my emotions and triggered my most fundamental desires and fears.

It sounded like exactly what I wanted.

Some of the finest quality sales copy I’ve ever seen. I’ve since gone back and swiped it for my copywriting swipe file.

What Not To Do For Business Success

The ripoff happened because the quality and extent of the product did not match up to the copy. Basically, they didn’t deliver. And then they tried to screw me for more money to get me buy again so I could get to the real stuff. I wasn’t playing that game.

And let that be a big lesson. I am.

These guys will not last long in business. Word will get around. Either they will lift their game on the delivery of the product they describe or they just won’t survive the bad press they get all over the internet as everyone warns each other about them.

You gotta tell the truth in sales. It’s just so much better for business when you can create lots of sales AND impress the pants off people with what you deliver.

The Big Mistake New Punters Make

There is one big pitfall to the marketers meditation. It’s thinking the way you respond to a product, piece of packaging, sales message, or any other part of the marketing process… is the way anyone else would.

The way you think is the way you think and never take for granted that anyone else thinks the same. Always take the position that you are alone in the world and no-one else shares your point of view. It’s just a far more profitable place to stand.

Always do your research before creating a product or service to make sure it’s wanted. And always do your research to find out what’s really going to tickle other peoples fancy.
